Inc. 5000 on Tuesday released its annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America with 19 New Jersey-based firms ranking in the top 1000.
The 2025 Inc. 5000 honors small businesses that are driving the U.S. economy, with this year’s honorees collectively generating over $300 billion in 2024 revenue and adding more than 536,000 jobs over the past three years.
The Inc. 5000 ranks companies based on their percentage revenue growth from 2021 to 2024. The top spot on this year’s list belongs to Akool, which recorded an astounding 37,364% growth rate. Other notable companies on the list include CoreWeave, Momofuku Goods, Poppi, Sweet Loren’s, and Tecovas.
Livingston-based CoreWeave secured the No. 45 spot on the list, with a remarkable three-year growth of 5,896%. The firm’s rapid ascent was underscored by a significant investment from OpenAI in March, which involved issuing $350 million worth of stock to Sam Altman’s company. Following this, CoreWeave went public with a valuation of $23 billion, and its market capitalization had already climbed to $75 billion by mid-July.
“The Inc. 5000 is one of the most important things we publish each year – a real-time bellwether of American business,” Mike Hofman, editor-in-chief of Inc. said. He highlighted the list as powerful proof of the innovation and resilience of entrepreneurs navigating a challenging economic landscape.
