Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services awarded $300K grant from the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation

Union-based Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services was recently awarded a $300,000 grant from the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation through the New Jersey Safety Net Innovation Proposal program.

The grant will aid the community-based provider supporting individuals and families facing mental health challenges’ Supportive Housing Program that serves approximately 500 individuals across Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren Counties.

Bridgeway’s Supportive Housing Program provides critical, wraparound support services to people experiencing mental health conditions, substance abuse, and other co-occurring conditions. Bridgeway’s whole-person approach addresses all aspects of wellness—emotional, physical, social, financial, environmental, intellectual, spiritual, and occupational—through evidence-based practices, peer support, and access to vital community resources including stable and safe housing.

“This funding through the NJ SNIP program will help us continue to deliver critical person-centered care to the people we serve through our Supportive Housing Program,” Cory Storch, president and CEO of Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services said. “We are grateful to the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation for their support and look forward to leveraging this funding to uplift the lives of the people throughout our communities.”

Launched in 2023, NJ SNIP is a grant initiative funded by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation and administered by the Camden Coalition. The initiative aims to strengthen New Jersey’s health care safety net by providing flexible funding and technical assistance to organizations serving individuals with serious mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.

Grantees receive two years of support to enhance organizational capacity, pilot new initiatives, or expand existing services, to improve access to quality care and advance health equity across the state.
