The annual Community Day Clean Up and Party in the Park is returning to Atlantic City for its fourth year on Oct. 25, promising a day of civic action and free, family-friendly celebration.
The event is hosted by Stockton University and the City of Atlantic City, inviting residents and community members to volunteer for clean-up and beautification projects across the city. The rain date is scheduled for Oct. 26.
Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. to noon at 10 designated clean-up sites throughout all six city wards.
Last year’s event saw robust participation, with over 400 volunteers representing more than 50 community groups. That effort resulted in the removal of 219 bags of trash, totaling nearly 10 tons, from the city’s streets and beaches. Organizers hope to match or exceed that level of community engagement this year.
Party in the park follows cleanup
Following the cleanup efforts, all volunteers and the public are invited to a free Party in the Park celebration, running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at O’Donnell Park, near Stockton’s Atlantic City campus (3598 Captain John A. O’Donnell Parkway).
The party is set to be a major community gathering, featuring:
- Over 50 vendors and community organizations.
- Music by DJ Ahmed Kahn and live performances by Stockton musicians.
- Food trucks and crafters.
- Family activities, including paint-your-own pumpkins, outdoor games, face painting, a petting zoo, and trick-or-treating for kids.
Individuals interested in volunteering for the cleanup on October 25 are encouraged to register ahead of time. Walk-up registration will also be available at O’Donnell Park at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event.
