In a major development for the financial technology and gaming industries, Fort Lee-based Cross River Bank has partnered with fintech leader Sightline Payments to create a first-of-its-kind payments ecosystem for the U.S. gaming industry. The inaugural product, named Sightline Debit, is an innovative solution that simplifies payments for both operators and players.
The new system addresses a significant inefficiency in the digital gaming market, where payment costs are, on average, 4.5 times higher than in other industries. Sightline Debit is projected to save the industry up to $3.5 billion over the next five years by minimizing the “churn cycle” of frequent withdrawals and deposits. This is achieved by creating a secure, FDIC-insured bank account at Cross River, where customers can store funds specifically for gaming.
This unique partnership leverages Cross River’s banking core and financial infrastructure with Sightline’s deep industry expertise. The solution provides patrons with a debit card on the VISA network, allowing them to access their gaming funds anytime, anywhere.
“We saw an opportunity to solve one of the biggest and most costly inefficiencies in digital gaming, and we knew Cross River was the perfect partner to help us bring it to life,” Sightline Payments co-founder and CEO Omer Sattar said.
Adam Goller, chief fintech officer at Cross River, highlighted the transformative power of their collaboration. “By leveraging our proprietary banking core with Sightline’s deep industry expertise, we co-developed a first-of-its-kind solution that merges two previously siloed financial systems into one intuitive, real-time experience,” Goller explained.
The first phase of the Sightline ecosystem is set to launch in leading digital gaming markets in the coming weeks, promising a new era of convenience, security, and financial empowerment for the gaming industry.
