Deborah Heart and Lung Center adds health care executive and South Jersey business leader to board

Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of two highly accomplished individuals: Dr. John Bonamo, a distinguished health care executive, and Glenn Davila, a prominent New Jersey business and community leader. Both new members are committed to leveraging their extensive experience to support and strengthen Deborah’s mission.

“Between Dr. Bonamo’s expertise as a leading healthcare executive in New Jersey and ability to drive high reliable organizations and Mr. Davila’s decades of success as a passionate South Jersey business and community leader, we have exponentially expanded our board’s knowledge base,” Jim Andrews, president and CEO of Deborah, said.

Bonamo joins the board with a distinguished career as a physician executive. Clinically, he excelled in obstetrics and gynecology, and as a CEO, he was instrumental in shaping Saint Barnabas (now Cooperman Barnabas) Medical Center through the introduction of multiple clinical programs, cultural leadership, and building a destination campus for advanced care.

His influence in healthcare extends across the state and nation, notably as the Chief Medical and Quality Officer for RWJBarnabas Health. Bonamo is a recognized expert, serving as an adjunct lecturer at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health and a visiting professor at the University of Beijing. He has been named one of the nation’s top chief medical officers five times by Becker’s Hospital Review. Despite having worked primarily in northern New Jersey, his ties to Long Beach Island are a key motivator in helping Deborah to thrive and improve the health of Southern New Jersey residents.

Meanwhile, Davila, the president and owner of Performance Marketing in Egg Harbor Township, brings decades of success in business strategy to the board. His firm provides innovative marketing solutions for diverse sectors, including healthcare and government.

Davila is a passionate contributor to the Southern New Jersey community, currently serving as chairman of the Southern New Jersey Development Council. His extensive advisory roles include the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, the Garden State Council of Scouting America, and the Digital Marketing Advisory Board for Rowan College of New Jersey. Nationally, he is a member of the National Small Business Association’s Leadership Council.

Davila holds a strong personal connection to Deborah, noting that his grandmother was successfully treated at the center years ago and later volunteered there. This connection drives his dedication to supporting the institution that had a direct impact on his family.
