New Jersey American Water has named David Forcinito as its new vice president of operations, returning the veteran engineer to the statewide subsidiary to oversee utility services for millions of residents.
Forcinito, a lifelong New Jersey resident who most recently served as the corporate vice president of Fleet for parent company American Water, succeeds Ben Morris. Morris is transitioning into a new role within the parent enterprise as vice president of operations for Strategic Programs.
In his new executive capacity, Forcinito will take charge of New Jersey American Water’s sprawling statewide infrastructure. His operational oversight spans water production facilities, wastewater collection systems, and field services across 18 counties, directly impacting approximately 3 million customers.
“Dave’s deep roots in New Jersey American Water’s operations and his decades of hands-on leadership make him exceptionally well suited for this role,” Mark McDonough, president of New Jersey American Water said. “We are proud to welcome him back and look forward to the expertise and continuity he will bring to our operations team.”
The appointment represents a homecoming for Forcinito, whose career with the utility network spans more than 35 years. He originally joined New Jersey American Water as a project engineer and steadily advanced through a succession of high-level supervisory roles, including operations superintendent, maintenance manager, and production/field operations manager, before ascending to senior director of South Operations. He transitioned to the corporate fleet leadership role in June 2024 before rejoining the New Jersey utility team this spring.
An accomplished environmental professional, Forcinito holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Widener University and a Master of Science in water resources and environmental engineering from Villanova University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New Jersey and maintains a comprehensive set of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) water and wastewater operator licenses, including T, W, S, and C certifications. He remains an active participant in the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
