Erica Connor of Manasquan Bank receives NJBankers Excellence in Diversity Award

Erica Connor of Manasquan Bank was presented with the New Jersey Bankers Association (NJBankers) Excellence in Diversity Award on May 1 during the association’s annual DEI Summit.

The award recognizes an NJBankers member who has made significant achievements toward creating a more diverse and inclusive banking community.

Connor is Manasquan Bank’s assistant Vice President, Human Resources Manager, and has worked at the bank for nearly a decade. She is also a member of NJBankers DEI Council.

Connor’s leadership qualities in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion have had a profound and positive impact on Manasquan Bank and her community. She is activley involved in various community organizations that promote diversity and inclusion; she participates in financial literacy initiatives aimed at empowering low- and moderate-income communities; She has created a TEAMS channel where she posts multicultural content; She leads employee volunteerism programs within Manasquan Bank’s communities, and more.

“I am grateful to be a part of an institution where I have the encouragement and autonomy to work in the DEI space. Human Resources can be challenging at times but for me, fulfillment comes when you know you are fully supported and able to share your viewpoint in order to drive change,” she said during a speech at the DEI Summit.

“At the core, diversity isn’t just a value—it’s a driver of innovation, change, and long-term success,” Connor continued. “Today’s recognition reflects the dedication of not only me but all colleagues who foster an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered. We all know there’s always more to do in this arena, but I remain hopeful that this journey will continue to enlighten others.”
