The Holy Name Health System and Holy Name Foundation hosted a highly attended Women’s Health Symposium on Oct. 19, bringing together 200 attendees for a day of expert insights and discussion. The event, which also celebrated 100 years of providing compassionate care for women, was held at the Holy Name Sister Claire Tynan School of Nursing.
The symposium aimed to provide clarity, expert advice, and a practical roadmap for women navigating critical health transitions as they enter their late 30s and beyond.
Focus on key health risks
A core feature of the event was the focus on what Holy Name specialists identified as the Top 5 Health Concerns for Women in 2025:
- Heart Disease
- Cancer
- Stroke
- Respiratory Diseases
- Alzheimer’s Disease
The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Sharyn Lewin, director of Gynecologic Oncology at Holy Name.
Keynote and breakout sessions
Attendees heard from keynote speaker Dr. Melanie Marin, director of the Menopause Program for the Mount Sinai Health System and a Certified Menopause Practitioner.
The day’s program also included:

- An exhibition area where attendees could access specialized information on a variety of health topics.
The successful symposium underscored Holy Name’s commitment to proactive health education and skilled care for women in the community.
