The West Side Square (WSS) urban district, which is set to transform Jersey City’s Marion neighborhood, has unveiled two new renderings that showcase its community-driven vision. The project is being developed through a collaborative partnership between Lanterra Developments, Westdale Properties, Lantree Developments and Altree Developments.
This new renderings follow a major milestone for the project, the recent topping-off of its first 12-story residential tower, “The Residences a WSS.”
The new renderings are a first look at the lifestyle-focused amenities being developed. They highlight how WSS aims to be more than just a place to live — creating a connected hub where residents and the community can gather, unwind and engage.
The Piazza Experience rendering captures the heart of WSS’s public life. This pedestrian-friendly space is designed with lush landscaping, curated seating, and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor areas. Inspired by European cultural squares and the social atmosphere of NYC’s Meatpacking District, the piazza is intended to be a central gathering place for the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the second-floor Amenities Deck rendering offers residents resort-style features, including a pool with private cabanas and an outdoor movie space for community events. It also features residential units with gated terraces that overlook the bustling piazza below, creating a true live-work-play environment.
The WSS development is a multi-phased project designed to blend contemporary architecture, public gathering spaces, and lifestyle amenities. With its first residential tower now topped off and new renderings revealing a unique vision, the project is on track to introduce a new kind of urban living to the Journal Square area.
