Jersey Mike’s elects retail and finance veterans Fran Horowitz and Cheryl Miller to board

New directors bring deep expertise in global brand building, executive leadership, and multi-unit franchising to fuel sub chain's rapid expansion

Jersey Mike’s Subs, a Manasquan-based franchisor in the fast-casual sandwich sector, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Fran Horowitz and Cheryl Miller to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. The strategic additions are expected to enhance the company’s executive guidance as it manages its continued growth momentum.

The new appointments follow a period of “remarkable growth” for Jersey Mike’s, which currently boasts over 3,000 locations domestically and internationally.

Charlie Morrison, CEO of Jersey Mike’s, welcomed the new members, stating, “Their leadership in global brand building and strategic advisory, along with their proven track records in driving performance, will be invaluable as we shape the next chapter of Jersey Mike’s expansion across the U.S. and beyond.”

New directors bring global brand and financial expertise

Horowitz is the current CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch Co., a position she has held since 2017. With close to four decades of experience in retail, merchandising, and global business strategy, she is recognized for leading iconic brands and advancing omnichannel and digital commerce initiatives.

“I’m energized to join Jersey Mike’s Board of Directors at such an exciting time,” Horowitz said. “The Company is at a pivotal stage in its journey, and I look forward to working alongside the talented leadership team and contribute to its continued success.”

Miller brings more than 20 years of executive leadership, finance, and franchising experience. She previously served as CEO and president, and earlier as CFO, of AutoNation, one of the largest automotive retailers in the U.S. Miller currently sits on the boards of multiple major companies, including Tyson Foods and Old Dominion Freight Line. Her career highlights include driving strategic growth and transformation across leading consumer brands and multi-unit operations.

“The team, leadership, and franchise network have created tremendous momentum, and I’m eager to help the Company through its next chapter of growth,” Miller commented.

Nigel Travis, lead director of Jersey Mike’s Board and former Chairman and CEO of Dunkin’ Brands, emphasized that the new directors’ perspectives will be instrumental as the company continues to innovate and expand.
