Jim Gross has retired from his role as general manager of education technology for Casio America, the Dover-based company announced Thursday.
Gross spent nearly three decades with Casio, and worked multiple departments, including digital imagining and education technology. With the former, he helped introduce Casio’s digital cameras into key U.S. markets and even K–12 classrooms.
Casio also launched several products under Gross’ guidance, including the fx-9750 series, the fx-991CW, and the new CG-100 graphing calculator.
Casio President Yusuke Suzuki praised his contributions with Casio.
“Jim has been instrumental in shaping Casio’s role in education,” he said. “His leadership has not only advanced our technology but also strengthened our connections with educators and classrooms across the country. His contributions will have a lasting impact on the teachers and students who rely on our tools every day.”
In addition to product innovation, Gross championed strong partnerships with leading national math and science teacher associations, including ASSM, NCTM, NCSM, and NSTA, ensuring Casio remained a trusted partner for educators year after year.
Gross admired his time and work with Casio.
“It has been the honor of my career to work alongside educators, associations, and colleagues to make technology meaningful in classrooms,” he said. “I’m especially proud of the lasting partnerships we built with teachers and the innovative tools we introduced.”
