MAD Global Strategy names Braz as partner

Justin Braz was elevated to partner at MAD Global Strategy, the company announced Wednesday.

Braz joined MAD Global Strategy in 2023 and oversees the firm’s Trenton lobbying operation. Prior to joining MAD, Braz served as chief of staff and assistant commissioner for transportation policy at the New Jersey Department of Transportation. He assumed that role after serving as Gov. Phil Murphy’s deputy chief of staff for legislative affairs for five years.

MAD Global CEO Mike Du Haime praised Braz’s skillset and prior contributions.

“Justin Braz has helped take MAD Global to the next level, growing our firm and recruiting the next generation of top talent,” he said. “Justin is a trusted advisor who is providing strategic counsel and helping our clients navigate tough challenges.”

Braz also served as senior advisor to Murphy for governor and the New Jersey Democratic State Committee 2021, labor director for victory 2017 and was chief of staff to Assembly Budget Chairman Gary Schaer from 2013 until August 2017. Braz was the New Jersey political coordinator for 1199 SEIU and chief of staff to Assemblywoman Annette Quijano.

Braz shared his appreciation for the promotion and how he’ll continue.

“I’m deeply grateful to Mike, Laura, and the entire team for their support and trust,” he said. “As partner, I look forward to continuing to guide our clients through complex challenges, mentor the next generation of talent, and help drive MAD Global’s continued growth and leadership in the industry.”
