Manasquan Bank Foundation donates $120K to food pantries, bolstering relief efforts against government shutdown and SNAP cuts

In a direct response to the ongoing federal government shutdown and resulting reductions in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, the Manasquan Bank Charitable Foundation has announced a significant $120,000 contribution to local food pantries and feeding organizations.

The critical funding will be distributed across Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties to assist families and individuals grappling with food insecurity. The bank stated the funds are intended to ensure that essential food and resources remain accessible to the community’s most vulnerable residents during this time of heightened need.

“Supporting our communities in times of need defines the essence of who we are,” James Vaccaro, chair, president and CEO of Manasquan Bank said. “The recent reduction in SNAP benefits, compounded by the effects of the federal government shutdown, has placed significant strain on many households. We want our communities to know that Manasquan Bank is here to help.”

Beyond the charitable donation, Manasquan Bank is also expanding its relief services to directly assist clients financially impacted by the shutdown or the loss of federal benefits.

“Providing relief through community investment is a reflection of our core values,” Vaccaro continued. He emphasized the bank’s long-standing commitment to the region, noting, “Manasquan Bank has been part of these communities for more than 151 years, and we remain steadfast in our mission to stand beside our communities in both times of prosperity and challenge.”

The bank is encouraging any clients or local residents who are experiencing financial difficulties due to the government shutdown or changes in federal benefits to reach out to their local branch for assistance.
