Marotta Controls secures spot in U.S. Army’s FLRAA program, deepening defense footprint

Montville-based Marotta Controls, a leading aerospace and defense solutions provider on Tuesday announced it has been selected to provide a static inverter for Bell Textron Inc.’s MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA).

This contract not only establishes a new relationship with Bell but also positions Marotta within the U.S. Army’s advanced weapon system development program. The award represents a significant expansion for Marotta, introducing a new product category—DC-to-AC power conversion technology—to its comprehensive power systems portfolio.

“This new product and relationship with Bell epitomize the convergence of innovation and opportunity,” Steve Fox, senior vice president of power and actuation systems at Marotta Controls said. “We’ve leveraged our decades of proven power systems expertise to develop inverter technology to support fuel pump applications. This positions Marotta as a complete power solutions provider across air, land, sea, and space domains.”

Enabling next-generation tiltrotor performance

The MV-75, developed by Bell, is the Army’s next-generation multi-mission aircraft. As a tiltrotor, it combines the vertical takeoff capabilities of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft.

Marotta’s static inverter, featuring an advanced power conversion architecture, will play a crucial role in the MV-75’s power distribution performance. The device is engineered to ensure the efficient operation of onboard systems while meeting the aircraft’s stringent size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements.

Fox added that recognition as part of the MV-75 program aligns with the company’s strategic growth initiatives.

The contract strengthens the New Jersey-based company’s strategic commitment to innovation and supports the ongoing modernization of U.S. defense capabilities.
