The MC Hotel, a member of the Marriott Autograph Collection, cemented its status as Montclair’s premier destination for culture and community by hosting an exclusive VIP event to celebrate the opening of the Montclair Film Festival on Oct. 17.
The evening was hosted by Jeff Sica, head of Circle Squared Alternative Investments and the visionary behind the hotel’s transformation into a luxury boutique destination. The event welcomed over 50 distinguished guests from the worlds of film, business and the local community.
Celebrating film and Italian heritage

The star of the evening was acclaimed Italian actress Cristiana Dell’Anna, internationally recognized for her roles in Gomorrah, Toscana, and Paolo Sorrentino’s Oscar-nominated The Hand of God. Her special appearance highlighted the hotel’s growing reputation as a hub for cultural events as New Jersey continues its rise as a major film production center.
“Working with Jeff Sica and being part of the Montclair community has been truly inspiring,” Dell’Anna shared. “There’s a unique energy here in New Jersey—a real passion for the arts and for supporting creative voices. I’ve felt so welcomed, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this vibrant cultural scene.”

The setting featured cuisine by the hotel’s new exclusive food and beverage partner, Stout NYC Hospitality Group. Ambiance was further enhanced by a classic Frank Sinatra-style crooner, Dominic Carbone, a fitting tribute to Dell’Anna’s Italian heritage.
A hub for business and culture
Sica, whose background includes producer roles for the acclaimed movie Cabrini, has long championed Montclair’s creative community. Under his leadership, The MC Hotel has become a sought-after venue for business and cultural experiences, offering over 8,000 square feet of meeting space and art-focused design.
“The MC Hotel is truly a gem for Montclair’s business and cultural community,” commented Kathryn Godby Oram, Principal at Godby Realty, who frequently hosts business meetings at the hotel. “Its welcoming atmosphere, exceptional service, and commitment to supporting local arts make it my top choice.”
Sica emphasized the hotel’s readiness to welcome the creative community.
“As Montclair and New Jersey continue to attract major film and television productions, The MC Hotel stands ready to welcome artists, executives, and guests seeking an inspiring and luxurious environment,” he said. “We are proud to support the Montclair Film Festival and to play a role in the cultural and economic vitality of our community.”
The hotel has future plans for additional venue renovations and the introduction of a new coastal Mediterranean restaurant concept, reinforcing its dedication to exceptional experiences for both locals and visitors.
