MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper has announced the recognition of Umur Atabek, who received a 2025 Cancer Liaison Physician Outstanding Performance Award winner by the ACS Commission on Cancer.
Atabek is among only 10 Cancer Liaison Physicians nationwide in 2025 to receive this honor.
Cancer Liaison Physicians serve as critical links between their cancer programs and the Commission on Cancer, using data-driven insights to promote quality improvement and patient-centered care.
Atabek reiterated this belief and credited his colleagues.
“I’m grateful to work alongside such a skilled and compassionate team,” he said. “Every day, our goal is to deliver the best possible treatment along with compassion, support, and hope.”
