Morris Plains-based Solstice Advanced Materials debuts on Nasdaq following Honeywell spin-off

Solstice Advanced Materials a new pure-play specialty materials company, on Thursday celebrated its first day as an independent, publicly traded entity following the completion of its spin-off from Honeywell. Shares of Solstice began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol “SOLS,” cementing its headquarters in Morris Plains as a hub for advanced materials innovation.

With a deep heritage in advanced materials spanning over 130 years, Solstice launches as a global entity with approximately 4,000 employees, 24 manufacturing sites, and four R&D centers, serving more than 3,000 customers worldwide. The company’s technologies provide high-performance solutions for critical global sectors, including:

  • Cooling and Building Solutions (HVAC/R and refrigerants)
  • Advanced Computing (data center thermal management and semiconductor manufacturing)
  • Energy, Defense, and Life Sciences (nuclear energy, protective fibers, and healthcare packaging)

“Our independence positions us to capitalize on powerful secular trends shaping our industry – from regulatory-driven transitions in cooling and building solutions to the rapid proliferation of AI and advanced computing,” David Sewell, president and chief executive officer of Solstice Advanced Materials said. He noted that the separation is intended to “unleash our growth potential and unlock meaningful long-term value for our stakeholders.”

The spin-off was executed through the distribution of Solstice common stock, with each Honeywell shareholder of record as of Oct.17, receiving one share of Solstice common stock for every four shares of Honeywell common stock held.
