The New Jersey Prevention Network has launched “The Learning Center,” a training and professional development resource for professionals in the fields of substance use prevention, clinical treatment and peer recovery support.
The new Learning Center expands NJPN’s expert-led trainings to professionals in private or non-grant-funded settings, empowering them with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to provide impactful services to communities in need.
The center offers CEUs, advanced credentials, and up-to-date best practices to any prevention specialist, addiction counselor, or peer recovery support worker in New Jersey, and provides a new professional pathway for more people interested in pursuing and/or advancing a career in public and behavioral health.
“As the addiction and recovery landscape grows more complex—with high overdose rates, co-occurring disorders, and staffing shortages—the demand for a well-prepared, adaptable workforce has never been greater,” Diane Litterer, executive director, NJPN, said. “By expanding the reach of our education, we are building a more resilient, prepared, and effective workforce capable of meeting the challenges of addiction throughout New Jersey,” she added.
This initiative builds on NJPN’s 25-year legacy of strengthening New Jersey’s behavioral health continuum of care through:
- Expert-led workshops and webinars
- Evidence-based and research-driven content
- Trainings aligned with licensure and certification standards (e.g., LCADC, CADC, CCS, CPS, CPRS, and more)
- Flexibility through in-person, virtual, and asynchronous options
- A focus on emerging needs, including new research and best practices, trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and culturally responsive practice
