New Jersey’s Weiss Realty propels Illinois industrial site into ‘power-ready’ data center contender

Weiss Realty, the Moonachie-based commercial real estate powerhouse with a half-century legacy in the Garden State, is making waves in the Midwest. The firm announced Tuesday that its 138-acre 2500 North Commerce Park in Decatur, Illinois, has been hand-selected for the Accelerated Site Assessment Program (ASAP).

The selection, made in partnership with Ameren Illinois and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, transforms the former industrial site into one of the most competitive, “shovel-ready” locations for the booming global data center market.

While the asset is located in America’s heartland, the vision behind it is distinctly New Jersey. Headquartered on Moonachie Road, Weiss Realty has long leveraged its East Coast expertise to manage institutional-grade properties nationwide.

“We are extremely excited and proud to see our property recognized as a priority development site,” Jaime Weiss, president of Weiss Realty said. “Our goal is to make it easier for companies to move quickly and confidently. The ASAP Program strengthens the site’s readiness and enhances its appeal to users seeking power, scale, and long-term growth potential.”
