NJIT (at No. 27) is only public school in N.J. to make Best Value College list by Princeton Review

Newark-based school earns spot on prestigious list for fifth consecutive ranking

The New Jersey Institute of Technology has been named a Top 50 Best Value College among public universities in The Princeton Review’s annual ranking —an achievement the Newark-based school has attained the past five years.

NJIT, at No. 27, is the only New Jersey university on the public school list.

The value ranking is based on 40 metrics that measure academics, affordability and career preparation. Best career placement reflects how students rate career services and the salaries that graduates earn. So, the combination of recognitions illustrates a high-quality education that opens the door to rewarding jobs.

“Being recognized as a top value university reflects NJIT’s commitment to providing an accessible, high-impact education rooted in research and real-world experience,” NJIT President Teik Lim said. “Our students graduate with the skills, experience and support they need to thrive in competitive careers. That’s the kind of impact NJIT aims to deliver.”

The recognition is just the latest from Princeton Review.

The university has been a staple of The Princeton Review’s broader list of Best Value Colleges since its inception in 2018. That too is a highly selective list: less than a third of the universities and colleges that the review considered made the cut this year. In addition, NJIT is now top 10 on The Princeton Review’s list of the Top 20 Best Career Placement among public schools — up one place from last year and among peers such as Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan.

Princeton is the only private school in New Jersey to make the Private School top 50.

Princeton came in at No. 1.
