The Ark Pub & Eatery, a beloved fixture and renowned neighborhood tavern in Ocean County, has officially changed ownership. The transaction was brokered by Richard Santore, vice president of Bielat Santore & Company, the Allenhurst-based firm that announced the sale.
Established in 1976, The Ark has built a reputation as a relaxed, “no-frills” Jersey Shore pub, cherished for its warm, inviting atmosphere and commitment to quality. The establishment is particularly famous for its award-winning burgers and fresh, locally sourced seafood, drawing a consistent crowd of both residents and tourists.
The sale marks a new chapter for the pub, which has been successfully owned and managed since 2008 by brothers Tony and Dan Bartone, who had purchased the establishment through Bielat Santore & Company.
The new owner is Mort Nase, a seasoned restaurateur with over four decades of industry experience. A lifelong resident of Point Pleasant, Nase is a well-known and respected figure in the local community. His background includes serving as the General Manager at Frankie’s in Point Pleasant before purchasing the Windward Tavern in Bricktown, in 2012—also through Bielat Santore & Company.
Mort Nase has expressed his intention to preserve the traditional charm and “Old English Pub” style of The Ark. Before making any changes, he plans to conduct a thorough analysis of current operations to ensure the establishment’s unique and consistent character remains intact.
“The Ark is a staple known for its consistent service and commitment to providing a memorable dining experience,” Santore said.
The pub benefits from its prime location in the heart of Point Pleasant Beach, a vibrant coastal town popular for its boardwalk and beaches. Situated along Route 35, a main thoroughfare, The Ark’s “local” vibe makes it an ideal stop for regulars and visitors exploring nearby Jersey Shore attractions.
