The biggest weekend in football is going to the dogs at the Liberty Science Center (LSC). On Feb. 7 and 8, the center will host its second annual Puppy Bowl, featuring a roster of adorable athletes with a very special future.
The “players” hitting the gridiron this weekend are visiting from The Seeing Eye, a renowned Morristown-based nonprofit. While they may spend the weekend fumbling toys and chasing tails, these puppies are destined for life-changing work as guide dogs for the blind and sight-impaired.
The pup-centric matchups will take place in a custom stadium located on the second floor in Governors Hall. Fans can expect roughly 20 minutes of unscripted “ruff” play per game.
While the puppies might not have mastered the two-minute drill or the nuances of a holding penalty, their enthusiasm is expected to draw capacity crowds to the science center’s viewing area.
