Que Pasa to air special Father’s Day episode: ‘Legacy in our blood’

A special Father’s Day episode of Que Pasa opens with a heartfelt tribute from host Carlos Medina to his late father, Modesto “Bob” Medina — a Cuban-born Korean War veteran and longtime New Jersey resident who became the legendary director of The New York Times news morgue.

The show will air Saturday at 9 a.m.

Known as “Google before there was Google,” Bob Medina’s legacy lives on through stories of service, culture, and a deep commitment to truth and representation. From helping shape the Holocaust Museum’s archives to assisting civil rights leaders and Hollywood writers, his work quietly shaped history.

Carlos honors his father’s life and influence, reflecting on the values passed down from one generation to the next.

Following the tribute, the show will bring together two inspiring father-daughter duos for a rich conversation about legacy, storytelling, and identity:

Carlos and Marisol Medina join Jeff Gomez, transmedia world-builder and CEO of Starlight Runner, and his daughter Evangelia Artemis Gomez. Together, they share personal reflections on growing up with strong role models, the importance of agency, and how families can shape the narratives that define us.

“This episode is about more than just Father’s Day: It’s about familia, legacy and the stories that shape who we are,” Marisol Medina said.

“I think one of the most important things that my dad ever taught me is that no matter what, you always have a choice – you can control the narrative of your life,” Evangelia Artemis Gomez said.
