Cushman & Wakefield on Tuesday announced it successfully brokered a new long-term headquarters lease for Selective Insurance Group at 103 John F Kennedy Parkway in Short Hills. The insurance firm has signed a significant deal to lease 122,525 square feet and is slated to begin occupancy in 2026.
The Cushman & Wakefield team representing Selective Insurance in the transaction included David DeMatteis, Robert Rudin, Jan Randall and Christina Magill. The landlord, Columbia Pacific Advisors, LLC, was represented by Timothy Greiner and Mike Pietrowicz of JLL.
JLL served as the exclusive agent for the property led by Executive Managing Director Tim Greiner, Executive Vice President Dan Ligorner and Senior Vice President Mike Pietrowicz
“We are pleased to have represented Selective Insurance Group, a long-term prominent New Jersey client, in securing this prime and significant office building in a sought-after location,” DeMatteis said.
The new headquarters location is highly desirable, situated in a key transportation hub that provides employees with extensive commuter and business travel options via major highways, airports, rail, and bus. The site also offers quick access to the vibrant downtown areas of Summit, Millburn and Chatham. Furthermore, the building is positioned directly across from the renowned Short Hills Mall and Eataly, providing employees with convenient retail and dining amenities.
As part of the move, the landlord, Columbia Pacific Advisors, is committing to a comprehensive modernization of 103 John F Kennedy Parkway. Planned upgrades include the installation of larger windows, new HVAC systems, and upgraded electrical switchgear. Selective Insurance, meanwhile, is partnering with Mancini Duffy to design a state-of-the-art workplace environment tailored to modern office standards.
