“We are currently operating in an unprecedented time, with the number of visits to our community feeding partners up since COVID – and the most vulnerable, children and senior citizens, are at an even greater risk. The cost of living, food, housing costs, taxes, are all on the rise. Hunger is a challenge that no one organization can solve alone,” Triada Stampas, president and CEO of Fulfill said. “Tonight’s honorees show what’s possible when community partners come together with a shared purpose in order to nourish our neighbors and build a stronger, more food-secure future.”
Highlights of the event included a performance by The Kings of Disco, who are former members of the iconic Village People, a Silent Auction and a “Live Appeal for Support” paddle raise, which raised over $70,000 to contribute to Fulfill’s vital work alleviating hunger in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
“Feeding 100,000 neighbors each month across the Jersey Shore requires more than food; it takes compassion, collaboration and community, and all of those qualities came together in spades at our Shore to Rock Hunger Event,” Stampas said. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to support our mission, from our sponsors to our generous attendees. Every dollar raised helps ensure that our neighbors in Monmouth and Ocean Counties have the food and the resource to lead fulfilling lives.”
