SJI recently participated in the Heart Walk of Southern New Jersey, gathering 130 participants and exceeding its goal of raising $50,000 for the American Heart Association at the Ocean City Sport & Civic Center in Ocean City.
The Heart Walk’s mission is to raise funds to save lives from heart disease and stroke. The event is organized by the American Heart Association and serves as a platform for individuals to improve their overall health and raise awareness about cardiovascular disease.
“SJI is proud to participate in the Heart Walk, celebrating our heart heroes and caring for our community,” Wes Becker, vice president, Customer Experience, SJIU said. “Whether it’s providing education to individuals about heart disease or raising essential funds for lifesaving research, every effort counts, and we are immensely grateful to our employees and the communities we serve for their support.”
Becker has been appointed to the executive leadership team of the Southern New Jersey Heart Walk and is the executive sponsor for SJI’s Heart Walk Committee. He replaces Bubba Schomber, president & CEO, South Jersey Gas, who has served on the executive leadership team for three years.
