Spirit Halloween, the world’s largest Halloween retailer, has announced the opening of over 1,500 seasonal store locations across North America, marking the official start of the spooky season. The company, headquartered in Egg Harbor Township, is once again transforming vacant retail spaces into immersive Halloween destinations.
For 2025, Spirit Halloween is unveiling a new in-store experience called “Madison Scare Park,” a haunted subway-themed environment complete with interactive details and eerie animatronics. The new collection of animated props includes “Twisted Grandma,” “Trick or Treat Pete,” and “Jack the Reaper,” all featuring cutting-edge motion technology to enhance the thrill for shoppers.
“The opening of Spirit Halloween stores signals the start of something special for our guests and our dedicated team that works year-round to reach this moment,” Steven Silverstein, CEO of Spirit Halloween, said.
Halloween, costumes, and community support
Beyond its extensive selection of costumes and décor, Spirit Halloween is continuing its annual “Spirit of Children” fundraising campaign. The initiative, which raises money through in-store donations, aims to bring the joy of Halloween to pediatric patients in hospitals. Since its inception, the program has raised over $145 million to support Child Life departments in partner hospitals across North America, funding therapeutic programs, sensory spaces, and holiday celebrations for young patients and their families. This year, the program hopes to raise another $18 million for 162 partner hospitals.
