SportsMed Physical Therapy, a provider of outpatient rehabilitation and wellness services, announced a strategic acquisition of WeCare Medical PT and Wellness in Maplewood. This move marks the company’s 51st clinic location, significantly bolstering its presence across New Jersey and Connecticut.
The latest addition, located in Essex County, reinforces SportsMed’s commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the region.

The acquisition highlights SportsMed’s rapid expansion since partnering with Hildred Capital Management in 2018. The company has grown exponentially, starting with just 7 locations and now reaching a network of 51 clinics.
SportsMed is a portfolio company of Hildred Capital Management, a New York City-based investor specializing in lower-middle-market health care companies. Holland and Knight served as the legal counsel to SportsMed for this transaction.
