TESU joins New Jersey School Boards to enhance the K-12 Education System

Thomas Edison State University announced it partnered with the New Jersey School Boards Association in an initiative to create innovative educational development and advancement opportunities for New Jersey’s K-12 professionals.

Known as the Partners in Education program it was developed by the NJSBA to promote positive and transformative approaches to the increasingly complex challenges facing the public education system.

“We are delighted to be contributing to the PIE initiative. Our partnership with NJSBA enables K-12 educational professionals to reimagine school leadership, organizational culture, and change using interdisciplinary strategies, methods, and tools,” Michael Williams, dean of the School of Business and Management at TESU, said. “The alliance leverages the University’s resources and expertise in educational leadership and workforce-aligned curriculum innovation. Public education leaders, administrators and teachers are constantly challenged to address student achievement gaps, implement contemporary curricula, and culturally adapt to rapid and often discontinuous economic, social and technological changes. As a result, the public education ecosystem is continually confronting conditions that resist simple solutions.”

Williams will deliver a webinar on May 29 to explore the relationship between organizational leadership, culture, and change in public education he said. The information session will offer interdisciplinary strategies, methods, and tools to stimulate thinking and action, enabling public education professionals to create the future of public education.

“We are excited to welcome TESU to the Partners in Education program,” Lauren Cuervo, senior director of Connection at NJSBA said. The institution’s expertise in higher education and commitment to professional development lends a new dimension of resources to the program.”
