Keasbey-based Wakefern Food Corp., the largest retailer-owned supermarket cooperative in the United States, will be hosting walk-up job fairs Aug. 23, to fill a variety of positions at its member-owned stores. The hiring events will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at select locations across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
The job fairs will be held at participating stores under several of Wakefern’s banners, including ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Gourmet Garage, and Fairway Market. A hiring representative will be on-site at each location to speak with candidates, with no prior appointment needed.
Available positions include both full-time and part-time roles, as well as management opportunities, depending on the specific store. Wakefern is seeking to fill positions across various departments, such as:
- General, perishable, front-end, and stocking clerks
- Department managers and assistant managers
- Cashiers and courtesy clerks
- Specialized roles like schematics coordinator, sales ambassador, and receiver
