One of the Jersey Shore’s most storied institutions is entering a new chapter. Hyatt Hotels Corporation officially welcomed the Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in Galloway into its Destination by Hyatt brand, a move designed to elevate the historic property’s global profile while preserving its century-old legacy.
Nestled on 670 acres along Reed’s Bay, just eight miles from the bright lights of Atlantic City, the Seaview has long served as a serene alternative to the boardwalk’s hustle. The transition to the Hyatt portfolio allows the resort to tap into a massive global travel network while maintaining the independent spirit that has defined it since 1914.
The Seaview is more than just a hotel; it is a piece of New Jersey history. Over the decades, its halls have hosted everyone from Presidents Warren G. Harding and Dwight D. Eisenhower to The Rolling Stones. It famously served as the backdrop for Grace Kelly’s 16th birthday party in 1945.
For sports fans, the resort is hallowed ground. It features two championship courses:
-
The Bay Course: Designed by legends Donald Ross and Hugh Wilson, this links-style course offers sweeping views of the Atlantic City skyline.
-
The Pines Course: A parkland-style retreat that winds through lush forest, famously known as the site where Sam Snead won his first major title in 1942.
The resort’s 296 guest rooms and 16 suites have been modernized to meet today’s standards, but the “turn-of-the-century” charm remains the main draw. Beyond golf, the property serves as a major economic driver for Atlantic County, featuring:
- 34,500 square feet of meeting and event space.
- The Noyes Art Gallery, showcasing local culture.
- Indoor and outdoor pools, nature trails, and tennis courts.
“Becoming part of the Destination by Hyatt brand allows Seaview to maintain its unique character while tapping into Hyatt’s global platform,” Robert Morgan, general manager of Seaview Hotel & Golf Club said.
