David Baiada, chief executive officer of BAYADA Home Health Care, will transition out of his role to join the company’s board of directors, the organization announced today. A comprehensive search is underway to find his successor, who will be the first non-family member to lead the nonprofit since its founding.
Baiada, who has served as CEO for the past eight years, will continue in the position during the search and assist with the leadership transition. His departure coincides with the eighth anniversary of his appointment and the company’s transition to a nonprofit model.
Under his leadership, the organization has experienced significant growth, more than doubling in size. He oversaw the restructuring of the company into specialized care practices and spearheaded investments in technology and clinical innovation. Baiada also guided BAYADA through the global pandemic and strengthened its nonprofit identity and community-based services. Throughout his tenure, he prioritized maintaining a culture rooted in The BAYADA Way, the company’s core values of compassion, excellence, and reliability.
Mark Baiada, BAYADA’s founder and chairman, praised his son’s contributions. “Since joining the business more than 20 years ago, David has helped us grow in size and strength, while always putting The BAYADA Way at the center of every decision,” he said. “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, this transition is about the next chapter—the thoughtful continuation of a promise to protect our mission, preserve our values, and pass on our legacy with care.”
A Board Succession Committee has been formed to lead the search for the next CEO. The committee’s chair, Teresa Carroll, expressed gratitude for David’s leadership and confidence in the company’s future. “With David’s continued leadership during this transition, then as a Board member, and with our strong executive team in place, we are well positioned for continued success,” she stated.
