Breeze Airways touches down in Atlantic City with new nonstop South Carolina and North Carolina service

The South Jersey travel landscape is getting a “seriously nice” upgrade as Breeze Airways officially announced its entry into the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) market. The premium leisure carrier will launch nonstop service to Charleston, S.C., and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., along with a “BreezeThru” connection to Tampa, Fla., beginning this spring.

The move marks a significant expansion for ACY, providing the airport’s only commercial flights to destinations outside of Florida—a direct challenge to the regional dominance of existing low-cost carriers.

Travelers can begin booking today for flights starting in May and June, with introductory one-way fares as low as $39.

Destination Service Type Frequency Start Date Intro Fare
Charleston, S.C. Nonstop Wed / Sat May 6 $49*
Raleigh-Durham, N.C. Nonstop Thu / Sun June 11 $39*
Tampa, Fla. BreezeThru* Thu / Sun June 11 $39*

*BreezeThru service features one stop with no change of plane required.

The arrival of Breeze is being hailed as a major win for both local residents and the Atlantic City tourism industry. Stephen Dougherty, executive director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, noted that the routes provide much-needed accessibility for the southern New Jersey and Philadelphia regions.

“For an airport of our size, expanding service in a way that directly benefits our passengers is especially meaningful,” Dougherty said. “These routes give travelers more convenient access for business, family visits, or weekend getaways.”

Gary Musich, president and CEO of Visit Atlantic City, emphasized the timing of the launch: “With new nonstop routes launching just in time for summer, visitors from Charleston, Raleigh-Durham, and Tampa can experience Atlantic City when our beaches, entertainment, and dining are at their most lively.”

Breeze Airways, founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, has quickly gained acclaim for its “premium leisure” model. The airline exclusively utilizes a brand-new fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which are designed for comfort and efficiency on underserved routes.

Guest-friendly features include:

  • Flexible booking: No change or cancellation fees.

  • Onboard tech: High-speed Wi-Fi and power at every seat.

  • Family focus: Free family seating and “Breeze Ascent” premium product options.

  • Award-winning service: Named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025 and a top-four domestic airline by Travel + Leisure every year since its inception.

“Atlantic City is not only a great destination for travelers but also a gateway to many other metro areas,” Neeleman said. “We look forward to introducing our new Guests in Atlantic City to the Breeze experience.”
