Genova Burns Partner Don Clarke has graduated from the prestigious Lead New Jersey program, joining a distinguished network of leaders committed to strengthening communities, driving innovation and shaping public policy across the state.
Lead NJ’s highly selective fellowship brings together professionals from government, business, law, education, and the nonprofit sector for an intensive year of learning, collaboration and leadership development. Through issue-oriented seminars, statewide policy tours, and engagement with New Jersey’s most influential change-makers, participants gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the Garden State.
Clarke said his participation in Lead NJ further enhances his ability to serve clients with a broader statewide perspective and a deeper appreciation for New Jersey’s evolving economic, social and civic landscape.
“I can lead New Jersey by using my professional experience in complex commercial matters concerning bankruptcy, restructuring and state court insolvency to ensure fair outcomes for businesses, individuals, and communities alike,” he said. Doing so will strengthen trust in our institutions and foster responsible economic growth.”
Genova Burns’ involvement with LEAD New Jersey spans decades and reflects the firm’s enduring commitment to leadership, ethics, and public service.
The firm’s connection to the organization includes Ethics Counsel Joseph Bottitta, a member of the LEAD NJ Class of 1953; Matthew I.W. Baker, Class of 2016, who currently serves on the LEAD New Jersey Board of Trustees; and Gerard Pizzillo, Class of 2023. This multi-generational participation underscores Genova Burns’ deep investment in developing principled leaders who shape New Jersey’s legal, business, and civic communities.
“Don’s graduation from Lead NJ is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to his commitment to public service, professional growth, and thoughtful leadership,” Managing Partner James Burns said. “We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to the many ways he will continue to contribute to the firm, our clients, and the New Jersey community.”
