The iconic animatronic dinosaurs of Field Station: Dinosaurs are officially relocating, finding a new permanent home on the Jersey Shore. Showboat Atlantic City, a family-friendly resort, has purchased the park’s full collection of over 30 life-sized prehistoric creatures with plans to create a new dinosaur-themed attraction adjacent to the resort property.
The move ensures that the beloved dinosaurs, who have been roaring in Bergen County for over a decade, will continue to thrill, educate, and entertain families, now along the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk. Showboat plans to open the new attraction in the spring of 2026.
The announcement of the sale comes as Field Station: Dinosaurs prepares to open its gates for its final four days of operation in Leonia, running from Nov. 6 through Nov. 9. After 13 seasons and more than one million visitors, the park will officially close its North Jersey location.
“Knowing that our dinosaurs will live on and continue their mission of sparking curiosity and imagination is the perfect ending to our story,” Guy Gsell, executive producer of Field Station: Dinosaurs said. “We’re incredibly proud of the experience we created here in Leonia and excited to see it evolve in Atlantic City.”
As part of the park’s “Fond Farewell” campaign, visitors and partners are encouraged to share their favorite memories and photos by tagging @Jerseysaurus and #fondfarewellfsd. Guests still have time to experience the magic one last time before the dinosaurs head down the Parkway.
Tickets and details for the final days are available at JerseyDinos.com.
