Kellie Doucette, the state’s first chief operating officer, is scheduled to be a special guest the first BINJE’s Best: Top Women in Business Leaders event, Wednesday at the APA hotel in Woodbridge.
Doucette is expected to address the crowd of top women leaders and remain for the entirety of the event, participating in networking sessions as well as posing for pictures with the honorees.
“We’re so grateful to have Kellie Doucette, the state’s first chief operating officer, at our first event honor top women business leaders in the state,” BINJE founder and editor Tom Bergeron said. “She is an inspiration to all of the attendees, someone who will have great impact in the next four years.”
The breakfast event, which BINJE is putting on in partnership with the N.J. Business & Industry Association, will honor more than 100 top women in business, including a dynamic dozen (who will receive special recognition) and six rising stars.

Doucette is highly regarded by elected officials and business leaders throughout the state.
This is a newly created role where she will focus on creating and driving efficient systems
across state government aimed at saving New Jerseyans time and money.
She previously worked in the private sector in finance and health care, and in senior roles in government including serving as Sherrill’s District Director, when Sherrill was representing the 11th District in the House.
Doucette worked closely with local officials on a bipartisan basis to identify and address a wide variety of issues, such as flooding, water infrastructure, superfund remediation, public safety, housing affordability, mental health, reproductive health, economic development, veteran health care, and support for the local military installation, Picatinny Arsenal.
Doucette is a graduate of Harvard University.
