Eos Energy Enterprises, a U.S. manufacturer of zinc-based battery energy storage systems, on Wednesday announced a significant corporate expansion plan that includes relocating its corporate headquarters from Edison, New Jersey to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as part of a $353 million investment package.
The move is part of the company’s Project AMAZE (American Made Zinc Energy) growth strategy, which focuses on massive U.S. manufacturing expansion and the establishment of a new software hub in Pennsylvania, driven by growing demand from the AI and data center sectors.
Eos will move its main offices in Edison to a 40,000-square-foot space in Pittsburgh’s North Shore neighborhood in the latter half of 2026. The relocation will support the company’s proprietary battery management system, software and controls platform. Eos also previously operated an R&D and battery testing lab in Edison, New Jersey.
Focus shifts to Pennsylvania
The company’s decision to move comes as it secures a joint $24 million economic development package from Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Allegheny County to support the expansion. The overall $353 million investment will significantly grow Eos’s manufacturing footprint in Allegheny County, creating over 700 new jobs and retaining hundreds of current positions.
“Through Project AMAZE, we’re proving that you can make things in America again by building world-class capacity, pairing advanced manufacturing with innovative software, and doing it here in Pennsylvania to ensure a more energy-efficient and secure future,” Joe Mastrangelo, Eos chief executive officer.
The expansion includes a new 432,000-square-foot facility in Marshall Township, PA, designed to transition the company to high-efficiency, large-scale production with plans to reach 8 GWh of annualized energy storage capacity.
