Datacor, Inc., a prominent New Jersey-based provider of software for the chemical and process manufacturing industries, announced Wednesday the acquisition of GoldSim Technology Group. The move significantly broadens Datacor’s footprint in the high-stakes world of engineering simulation and probabilistic risk assessment.
Based in Florham Park, Datacor has been steadily building a comprehensive “one-stop-shop” for industrial engineering software. This latest acquisition adds GoldSim’s specialized dynamic simulation platform to a portfolio that already includes CHEMCAD (chemical process simulation) and a robust pipe flow modeling suite.
While Datacor’s existing tools focus heavily on the mechanics of chemical plants and fluid dynamics, GoldSim brings a different level of intelligence to the table: system-level modeling under uncertainty. GoldSim’s software is used by technical teams in the energy, mining, and environmental sectors to simulate complex systems where variables are constantly shifting. This allows engineers to perform “what-if” scenarios and risk assessments for some of the world’s most complicated industrial projects.
“GoldSim has spent over 25 years building simulation software that technical teams in some of the world’s most complex, high-stakes fields have come to rely on,” Tom Jackson, president of Datacor said. “This acquisition reflects our continued investment in industry-specific solutions.”
The acquisition marks a milestone for both companies. For GoldSim, joining the Datacor umbrella provides the capital and market reach of a larger organization.
“Joining Datacor gives us the resources and reach to keep pushing that standard forward,” Rick Kossik, president and co-founder of GoldSim Technology Group said.
For the New Jersey business landscape, the deal reinforces Florham Park’s status as a burgeoning hub for industrial tech. By integrating GoldSim’s 25 years of expertise, Datacor is positioning itself as a primary competitor against global engineering software giants, offering a specialized suite tailored specifically to the needs of process manufacturers and chemical distributors.
