Kevin Walsh, known for his work in holding elected officials and government agencies
accountable for more than two decades, has joined the Philadelphia-based firm of
Langer Grogan & Diver, he announced Friday on social media.
“After more than two decades working to hold government and corporations
accountable — including six years as New Jersey’s Acting State Comptroller — I’m
looking forward to continuing that work in private practice,” he wrote on his LinkedIn
account.
“Langer Grogan & Diver’s focus on cases that protect consumers, promote fair
competition, and hold powerful actors accountable is exactly the kind of firm where I’m
proud to continue working to ensure the law serves people and strengthens the
institutions they rely on.
“My practice will focus on consumer, whistleblower, antitrust, and commercial cases, as
well as internal investigations and regulatory matters.”
Walsh’s reputation as a fighter is well earned.
He served as state comptroller from January of 2020 to January of 2026 – and
successfully fighting to stop a bill that would have gutted the office investigative powers
last December. Prior to that, he served as executive director of the Fair Share Housing
Center since 2000, a role in which he pushed municipalities to build their required
amount of affordable housing.
Officials from Langer Grogan & Diver applauded the announcement on their social
media accounts.
“Kevin brings more than two decades of experience in public interest advocacy, trial and
appellate litigation and government oversight,” they posted. “His practice will include
consumer, whistleblower, antitrust, and commercial cases, and he will also conduct
internal investigations and counsel companies and nonprofit organizations on regulatory
and compliance matters.”
The job will be Walsh’s first in the private sector.
