Fort Lee-based bb.q Chicken revamps loyalty program for K-food fans

bb.q Chicken, the rapidly expanding Korean fried chicken sensation headquartered in Fort Lee, has officially overhauled its rewards program to give customers a faster track to free food. The updated structure, which went into effect earlier this month, introduces a more aggressive point system and lower thresholds for the brand’s most popular menu items.

The move comes as bb.q Chicken continues its streak as one of the fastest-growing franchises in the U.S., recently ranking as Yelp’s No. 3 “Most Loved Brand” in the restaurant sector.

Rewards made simple: delicious menu items are just a few points away!

The most significant change for loyal “bb.q-ers” is the reduction of the top-tier reward ceiling. The company has slashed the highest point threshold from 70,000 points down to 50,000 points.

This adjustment is specifically designed to make high-value items—such as the fan-favorite “half & half” chicken—attainable with fewer visits, rewarding frequent diners more efficiently in a competitive fast-casual market.

Beyond the structural changes, the program now features a curated selection of new rewards tailored to diverse tastes:

  • 10,000 Points: Redeemable for a refreshing Lemon Fizz.
  • 25,000 Points: Earns an Open Sandwich Club.
  • 40,000 Points: Provides a $7 discount on any order.

“The goal of this update is to make our rewards program easier to enjoy and more rewarding for our customers,” a bb.q Chicken spokesperson said. “We’re creating more opportunities for customers to experience our menu while being rewarded for their loyalty.”

While bb.q Chicken (which stands for “Best of the Best Quality”) was established in 1995 under the Genesis BBQ parent company in Korea, its North American operations are anchored right in Bergen County.

The brand’s mission to serve “Korea’s Finest Fried Chicken™” has resonated strongly with New Jersey’s diverse culinary landscape. With this loyalty pivot, the Fort Lee-based leadership team is doubling down on customer retention as they aim to maintain their position as a top three fastest-growing restaurant brand nationwide.
