Holmdel-based iCIMS acquires AI company Apli to enhance talent acquisition platform

iCIMS, a Holmdel-based talent acquisition software provider, on Thursday announced it acquired Apli, an AI company specializing in recruitment automation. The move is designed to expand iCIMS’ market-leading AI capabilities to better serve the high-volume hiring needs of frontline workers, which make up approximately 80% of the global workforce.

Apli’s technology uses conversational AI to help companies attract, screen, and hire frontline talent more quickly and efficiently through mobile-friendly interfaces like text and chat. According to customer data, the technology can automate up to 90% of the hiring process for frontline roles, leading to a 75% reduction in time to fill and a 40% lower turnover rate on average.

The acquisition will allow iCIMS to integrate Apli’s tools into its platform, creating a new “Frontline AI” solution. This solution will work alongside iCIMS’ existing AI capabilities to automate more of the recruiting process and provide a faster, more conversational experience for applicants.

“This acquisition accelerates our vision to harness the power of AI across the full spectrum of recruiting and hiring,” Jason Edelboim, CEO of iCIMS said. He also welcomed Apli’s talented team, noting their expertise in data science and AI will “strengthen our growing investments and deliver faster innovation for our global customers.”

Eric Connors, chief product officer at iCIMS, added that the acquisition will usher in a “new level of smart, responsible AI” across the entire hiring journey, addressing a massive and underserved opportunity in the frontline hiring market.
