Woodcliff Lake-based Hudson Technologies, Inc., a leader in sustainable refrigerant management, recently announced it has acquired Refrigerants Inc., an EPA-certified reclaimer and distributor headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
The $2.5 million deal marks a strategic expansion into the Western United States, securing a critical link in the “aftermarket” supply chain as federal regulations tighten on the production of new refrigerants.
The acquisition comes at a pivotal moment for the HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) industry. Under the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, the EPA is aggressively phasing down the production and consumption of virgin hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
With a major 30% reduction in available HFCs scheduled for 2029, the industry is increasingly turning to reclaimed gas to bridge the supply gap.

By absorbing Refrigerants Inc., Hudson Technologies gains immediate access to a robust network of field technicians and contractors in the Colorado region. These technicians are the frontline of the “circular economy” for refrigerants, recovering used gases from existing systems and returning them for reclamation.
