Jersey Mike’s Subs on Thursday announced the appointment of Andrew “Andy” Skehan as president of International. Skehan, a restaurant industry veteran with more than two decades of international strategic leadership experience, will spearhead the company’s global expansion with initial focus markets including Canada and the UK.

As president of International, Skehan will oversee Jersey Mike’s multinational growth strategy, development, operations, and marketing initiatives. His core mission is to scale the brand’s presence while preserving the signature “fresh sliced and fresh grilled” sub experience and authentic hospitality that has defined the brand in the U.S.

“His proven record driving expansion for some of the world’s best-known restaurant brands makes him the ideal leader to guide our next chapter,” Charlie Morrison, chief executive officer of Jersey Mike’s said. “As we scale, we’re energized by the opportunity to share our brand with new communities around the world and deliver the same exceptional experience our guests know and love.”

Skehan joins Jersey Mike’s with a wealth of experience in leading franchise operations and international growth. His career highlights include:

  • Serving as president of International at Popeyes for six years, where he was instrumental in expanding the brand’s global footprint.

  • Holding the position of president of North America at Krispy Kreme, overseeing the company’s retail business.

  • Most recently, serving as president and CEO of Home Franchise Concepts.

He also held leadership roles with Wendy’s/Arby’s International, Churchill Downs Incorporated, Nabisco and PepsiCo Restaurants International, following his service as an officer in the United States Navy.

Skehan is confident in the brand’s universal appeal. “The Jersey Mike’s experience may have started in America, but its appeal is universal – great food made fresh, served with genuine hospitality, and rooted in the communities we serve,” he stated.

The appointment formalizes leadership for an international push that has already begun. Jersey Mike’s established a strategic partnership with Redberry Restaurants in 2024 to open 300 locations in Canada by 2034.

The company’s operating model is noted for its portability, designed to adapt across different formats and diverse regions, positioning it for success in core global markets. This growth continues its domestic momentum, having been recognized as one of America’s fastest-growing fast-casual chains and ranking highly on both Entrepreneur’s 2025 Franchise 500 and Yelp’s 2025 List of Fastest Growing Brands.

Jersey Mike’s also remains committed to its mission of giving back, having raised a record-breaking $30 million during its 15th Annual Month of Giving in March 2025, surpassing $143 million given to over 200 local charities since 2011
