Mid Penn Bank announced a landmark $1 million pledge to bolster breast cancer care and research programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. This transformative commitment is being channeled through the Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Fund in partnership with The Cooper Foundation.
As part of the substantial pledge, the bank recently presented an initial contribution of $50,000. These proceeds were raised from the Bank’s 2025 Mid Penn Bank Celebrity Golf Classic and were presented during a special ceremony at Cooper’s Moorestown campus, dedicated in loving memory of Jess Quandel.
The Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Fund plays a critical role in supporting breast and gynecologic cancer programs at MD Anderson at Cooper. It provides vital funding for research, early detection initiatives, advanced treatments, and essential patient support services. This community-driven effort ensures that women across South Jersey have access to exceptional, local cancer care and innovative therapies.
Rory Ritrievi, president and CEO of Mid Penn Bank, underscored the bank’s philosophy behind the donation.
“At Mid Penn Bank, we believe in investing in organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve,” Ritrievi said. “Our annual Mid Penn Bank Celebrity Golf Classic raises funds specifically for breast cancer charities and we are deeply proud to support MD Anderson at Cooper and the Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Fund as they lead innovation and bring hope and healing to women facing cancer across our region.”
Philip A. Norcross, chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees, hailed the commitment as an exemplary act of corporate citizenship.
“This extraordinary commitment from Mid Penn Bank reflects the very best of what it means to be a community partner,” Norcross said. “Their generosity will have a lasting impact on women and families across our region and inspires others to join us in making a difference.”
The donation was formally accepted by Generosa Grana, MD, director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. Also in attendance for the presentation were Ron Jaworski, chairman of the Board of Trustees at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional, and his wife, Liz Jaworski, a member of The Cooper Foundation Board.
“This gift from Mid Penn Bank is a powerful statement of compassion and commitment,” Dr. Grana said. “Support like this allows us to push the frontiers of cancer care, bringing new treatments, new technologies, and renewed hope to the women and families we serve every day.”
