The New Jersey Independent Electrical Contractors Association (NJIEC) has officially renewed its lease at 20 Worlds Fair Drive, ensuring the continued operation of its vital apprenticeship and training programs in Central Jersey.
The 5,000-square-foot space, located within a 30,000-square-foot flex-industrial building owned by First Industrial Realty Trust, serves as the primary hub for NJIEC’s four-year career development curriculum.
The Somerset location is specifically designed to handle the dual nature of NJIEC’s mission, combining traditional classroom instruction with the hands-on technical training required to prepare the next generation of New Jersey’s electrical contractors.
Marcy Gross, president of Sheldon Gross Realty, and Vice President Eric Weston managed the lease extension. Having brokered the original lease three years ago, the firm emphasized the site’s logistical advantages for a statewide organization.
“This space on Worlds Fair Drive continues to be an excellent fit for NJIEC,” Gross said. “It enables them to do everything they need to in terms of instruction, while its central location is easily accessible to students from throughout the state.”
The renewal comes at a critical time for the construction and trade industries, where the demand for skilled electricians remains high. NJIEC’s programs are comprehensive, spanning four years and preparing students for careers both within the state and across the national landscape.
