Ravallo named new president of N.J. Motor Truck Association

The New Jersey Motor Truck Association has installed new officers a board of directors for the 2025-27 term — and they’re getting right to work.

Incoming NJMTA President Mike Ravallo emphasized the critical role the association plays in representing the state’s motor carriers.

“NJMTA represents motor carriers that transport the goods that make America’s economy move,” he said. “Our members are the backbone of the supply chain. Unfortunately, we have spent the past few years fighting Trenton’s anti-truck agenda.”

Under Ravallo’s leadership, NJMTA has actively opposed several state policies detrimental to the trucking industry, including Gov.Phil Murphy’s proposed taxes on trucks serving warehouses — which is a tax on everything — and mandates requiring the purchase of expensive and underperforming electric trucks.

Today, the NJMTA is leading the fight against the administration’s regulations that would prevent owner-operators from working as independent contractors, he said.

“This war on our industry is a rallying cry for all our motor carriers to join with us under NJMTA’s umbrella to make us as resilient as we can be,” Ravallo said. “It is why growing NJMTA’s membership is my top priority.”

In addition to its advocacy efforts, NJMTA provides a range of valuable benefits to its members, including access to:

  • Group life and health insurance plans
  • Toll discounts
  • Weigh station bypass programs
  • Tire discounts
  • Educational seminars and more
