Rowan University and BAYADA Home Health Care have officially launched a new partnership to create a debt-free pathway for aspiring nurses. The collaboration is designed to upskill caregivers, expand career advancement opportunities, and address the critical nursing shortage projected for New Jersey.
The ceremonial signing event was energized by the chant of “More. Great. Nurses,” led by BAYADA founder and chairman of the board, Mark Baiada.
The partnership directly tackles a critical workforce challenge: the New Jersey Nursing Collaboration Center projects a shortage of more than 24,000 nurses by 2036. By removing financial and logistical barriers, the program aims to create a pipeline of qualified healthcare professionals.
“This collaboration strongly supports Rowan’s mission to deliver accessible, career-focused education that meets the growing demand for nurses in New Jersey and across the nation,” Rowan University Chancellor Tony Lowman said.
Beginning in January 2026, the inaugural cohort will take courses at Rowan University and Rowan College of South Jersey, establishing a streamlined path from home health aide to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Participants will benefit from:
-
Tuition reimbursement through BAYADA’s loan repayment program.
-
Personalized student success coaching throughout their academic journey.
-
Expert transition support into clinical practice via BAYADA’s nationally accredited Nurse Residency Program.
“We believe investing in our clinicians is essential to reducing the nursing shortage and helping more families access the healthcare they desire and deserve,” Mike LaRosa, development division director for BAYADA, said.
The partnership coincides with Rowan’s significant investment in its health care education infrastructure, including the ongoing construction of a new 42,000-square-foot nursing school building scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
The new program is open to both current BAYADA caregivers and new applicants seeking employment with the organization. Applications for the Spring 2026 cohort are now open.
