ShopRite, the prominent supermarket cooperative based in Keasbey, is deepening its investment in retail technology as the in-store media platform Grocery TV announces a major expansion across New Jersey and New York stores.
The partnership expansion adds 31 ShopRite locations operated by ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. (SRS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corp., to the digital screen network. This move bolsters the platform’s presence, bringing the total number of participating ShopRite stores to over 230 and reinforcing the digital retail media ecosystem in the retailer’s home state.
The Grocery TV screens are strategically installed in high-traffic areas of the stores, including the entrance, front end, and pharmacy areas. This placement allows ShopRite to directly engage shoppers with timely and valuable information.
-
Promotional Content: Customers in New Jersey stores can see the latest sales and promotions instantly.
-
Store Information: Screens share key information, including store news and job postings.
-
Brand Advertising: National brands gain an effective way to reach high-intent shoppers directly where purchase decisions are being made.
“Many of Wakefern’s member families who own and operate ShopRite stores are already using Grocery TV’s platform, so we are excited about the expansion as more of our stores in New York and New Jersey come on board,” Darren Caudill, chief sales officer for Wakefern said. “By customizing screen placement to fit each store’s unique layout and traffic patterns, we can deliver a variety of important information to customers from ShopRite and national brands.”
The collaboration between ShopRite and Grocery TV, which began in 2021, has shown steady momentum. This latest expansion adds to Grocery TV’s growing national footprint of over 6,500 stores, connecting brands with 95 million unique shoppers nationwide.
Wakefern Food Corp., the retailer-owned cooperative behind the ShopRite brand, is the largest supermarket cooperative in the United States, operating nearly 280 ShopRite supermarkets across six states. Its roots and headquarters in Keasbey, NJ, make this local expansion a significant development for the region’s retail landscape.
“This expansion shows what’s possible when retailers take a thoughtful approach to in-store media,” Neil Murphy, SVP of Retail Partnerships at Grocery TV said. “We’ve worked with ShopRite since the early days, refining the platform and our approach to uphold the shopper experience while driving incremental advertising revenue.”
