Stockton University expands academic lineup with eight new programs for Fall 2026

Stockton University is significantly broadening its academic horizons, announcing eight new program options set to debut in the Fall 2026 semester. The expansion targets high-demand sectors in health sciences, education and social services, reinforcing the university’s role as a primary workforce engine for Southern New Jersey.

“We’re constantly reviewing our academic portfolio to ensure our programs meet the evolving needs of students and the communities we serve,” Tracey Meilander, associate provost of curriculum and compliance said.

The bulk of the new offerings reside within the Bachelor of Science in Health Science, utilizing strategic partnerships with out-of-state institutions to create streamlined, “accelerated” pathways for students:

  • Doctor of Chiropractic (Dual Degree): A new partnership with Northeast College of Health Sciences (NY) allows students to complete their doctorate in as little as six or seven years (3+3 and 4+3 tracks).
  • Athletic Training (Dual Degree): Collaborating with Thomas Jefferson University (PA), this pathway directs students toward a Master’s in Athletic Training.
  • Applied Clinical Nutrition: Another partnership with Northeast College offering 4+2 and 3+2 dual degree options.
  • Medical Laboratory Technology: A unique 3+1 dual degree pathway with Mercer County Community College, where students earn both a B.S. and an Associate of Applied Science.

Stockton is also addressing the complex needs of the legal and social systems. Graduate students in the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice can now specialize in a Victimology and Victim Services track.

Additionally, the university is launching a Dual Master’s Degree (MA in Criminal Justice / Master of Social Work). While initially open only to current Stockton students in Fall 2026, the dual program will welcome new applicants starting in Fall 2027.

A cross-disciplinary collaboration between the School of Education and the School of Health Sciences has resulted in the B.S. in Exercise Science – K-12 Health and Physical Education Concentration. This program is specifically designed to meet the rising demand for licensed physical education teachers in New Jersey’s public schools.

By cutting down the time required to earn advanced credentials, Stockton aims to place skilled professionals into regional hospitals, schools, and agencies faster.

“Southern New Jersey continues to see increasing demand for health care professionals, educators and social service providers,” Meilander noted. “Stockton is helping to prepare a skilled workforce that can make an immediate impact.”
