In a blend of community wellness and entertainment, Virtua Health and Philadelphia’s POWER 99 FM have announced they will co-host the We♥️ Health Fest on Saturday, May 9.
The free event, scheduled during Mother’s Day weekend, aims to provide accessible health care resources to South Jersey residents in a high-energy, family-friendly atmosphere. The festival will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at Virtua Primary Care – Camden, located within the Oliver Station community at 1800 Davis Street—conveniently situated next to the PATCO Hi-Speedline’s Ferry Avenue stop.
Bringing the sound of the city to the event, POWER 99 personalities Roxy Romeo and DJ Doc B will emcee the festivities, playing music and coordinating various prize giveaways throughout the afternoon.
To honor the holiday weekend, the festival will include special gifts for mothers. Families can also enjoy:
- Kids’ Zone: Featuring face-painting and interactive youth activities.
- Refreshments: Free snacks and drinks for all attendees.
- Community Tours: Guided tours of the modern Virtua Primary Care offices at Oliver Station.
While the festival offers plenty of entertainment, its core mission is focused on community health. Virtua clinicians and specialists from the nearby Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital—which is currently celebrating 75 years of service—will be available to consult with guests on a wide range of medical needs.
Free Health Services Available On-Site:
- Adult Screenings: Preventive health checks and consultations.
- Vision Testing: Available for both adults and children.
- Lead Screenings: Dedicated testing for children under age 6 and people who are pregnant or lactating.
- Expert Access: One-on-one conversations with specialists in cardiology, digestive care, transplant services, behavioral health, and maternity care.
“We’re excited to give back to our community in this way, and to help area residents and families be well, get well, and stay well,” Dr. Mithil Choksey, lead physician at Virtua Primary Care – Camden at Oliver Station, said.
Organizers have designed the event to be “weather-resilient.” A portion of the festival will take place under a covered roof, and all clinical health screenings will be conducted indoors to ensure patient privacy and comfort regardless of the forecast.
